The Allegro has been actively towing gliders for 3 years and the factory built, ready to fly aircraft is now available by special order with a certified tow hook.

Towing of gliders by Sport Aircraft is becoming more popular because of the lower operating and service costs. A two year testing program, in cooperation with the certification company Vanessa Air and the University of Brno, realised about 50 tows with several types of gliders.

The testing took place in the Czech Republic and Germany where new regulations for towing gliders with Sport Aircraft came into effect in April 2001. The PIRAT one seater glider and the ASK 13 two seater have both been successfully towed by the Allegro 2000. Testing was conducted in various temperatures and from different runway surfaces to ensure that all conditions were experienced. The overwhelming success of the Allegro 2000 during towing operations has resulted in several aircraft being sold to Czech, German, Greek and Polish aeroclubs.
