Allegro Kit Build Options The Allegro Quick-Built Kit (QBK) is now available in Australia as a 51% approved kit with the RAA. The QBK has been designed for aviation enthusiasts who want to save money and share in the enjoyment of actually flying an aircraft which they built. The QBK is supplied to provide builders with only basic mechanical ability with a project that they can complete in as little as 250 hours. The majority of the airframe is finished and has been prepared by the factory using the same jigs and tools which make the certified aircraft. The wing structure is completed and closed. The wing struts, elevator and rudder are also included, ready for final fitting and painting. The QBK also contains the electric controls for the flaps, engine covers, pre-assembled front undercarriage leg and completed main undercarriage legs. The welding of the important central section of fuselage is completed, tested and painted and it is already installed into the fuselage using factory jigging and tooling. The wing, elevator and main undercarriage legs have already been pre installed, levelled and adjusted, drilled in the correct places then disassembled for the builder to do. All the important strength parts like the wing, elevator and main undercarriage fittings are installed on the airframe. Build time needed for assembling the airframe by the homebuilder is about 190 hours, with another 40 to 60 hours taken up with fitting the engine and instruments. Overall, the average homebuilder should complete the aircraft in less than 250 hours. A complete construction manual comes with each kit aircraft and assistance is available through our website or over the phone at any time. The following parts are not included in the QBK but can be ordered for delivery with your aircraft:
