Great News.... The first Allegro to enter service in Australian Flying Schools is a huge success ! Congratulations to Mike Apps and Barry Wrenford of the Snowy Aviation Academy on their purchase. They are so happy with the plane that Mike has mentioned..... 'another will probably be ordered in the coming months'.

Other than a few old Lightwings, we understand that this is the ONLY aircraft which can be RAA registered and can be used for training in water operations. Further to this great news, is that there is progress on allowing the Allegro to be used for glider towing.... Snowy Aviation Academy Open Day The Snowy Aviation Academy is organising a "Fly-in" and open day for the weekend of 2nd and 3rd October to celebrate and officially open the new flying school. The opening will be held on the Saturday morning from 11:00am at the Polo Flat Airfield, Airstrip Road, Cooma, which is around 1 hours drive South of Australia's capital city Canberra. To quote from an article in the latest RAA magazine "The Snowy Aviation Academy uses the Allegro 2000, newly imported from the Czech Republic. With Europe now leading the world in new light aircraft designs, the Snowy Aviation Academy has managed to obtain the best of these new 'state of the art' flying machines to train students who are beating a path to the door from not only the local area and Canberra, but further afield in Sydney and the South Coast. Students can also learn in their own aircraft or convert to flying 'tail-draggers' or seaplanes." We hope to have as many different and exciting aircraft as possible at Cooma on the open day and cordially invite you to come along and bring your aircraft to show the people of the Monaro district. There is accommodation at the airfield, in town or 'under the wing' for the more traditional fly-in visitor.
