Passion is what motivated us in the design of the Savage Aircraft Range.

Passion for the harmonious and elegant features, passion for aircraft designed during Golden Age of aviation, passion for independent flying away from normal airfields and passion and feeling of being free without compromise, passion for being above the hills and over the lakes, viewing the forest and rivers of a beautiful country side.

"Flying the Savage is a unique experience."

As the wheels leave the ground, and the aircraft gains altitude, it describes a feeling that is strong, so powerful and almost impossible to explain and it takes you on a trip back in time.

The shadow thrown from the long rounded wings immediately invoke past memories.

You are not simply flying... You are living a special experience.

The Savage range is now available in 4 unique models, all with different attributes and features.

Starting with the newly introduced Savage Bobber. The latest addition to the Savage range is a unique and special aircraft designed for true off field operations at and extremely affordable price. The new Savage Bobber offers an exceptional view and flying experience, the appearance is like nothing seen before and flying the Savage Bobber is often described like riding a motorcycle.

The Savage CUB is our hard-core aircraft, modelled on the original Super CUB it provides outstanding performance and manoeuvrability whilst at the same time respecting the original aircraft lines made famous all of those years ago.

The Savage Cruiser was manufactured with particular care to details and grand attention in the research of absolute comfort and elegance. This modern aircraft has the same structure of the Savage Classic, (aircraft from which derives) but different and more gentle shape. You will be able to do the same special “jobs” typical of the Classic version, but with something unique in your hands, especially if painted with our special paint schemes.

The Savage Classic is our original aircraft and will offer you a versatile and affordable platform, that will provide you with many years of enjoyment. Using the bushwheels… or snow skies... or the amphibious floats means you will be able to land almost everywhere, with that special sense of safety that only a strong steel welded fuselage can offer. In other words you could be able to become a true “Bush Pilot”.

"Choose you’re Savage... Start your dream."

Everything Old is New Again.....

The Piper J-3 Cub is a small, simple, light aircraft that was built between 1937 and 1947 by Piper Aircraft.

With tandem (fore and aft) seating, it was intended for flight training but became one of the most popular and best-known light aircraft of all time. The Cub's simplicity, affordability and popularity invokes comparisons to the Model T Ford automobile. Its standard yellow paint has come to be known as “Cub Yellow” and now the time has come to relive a little history with the introduction of Savage Aircraft into Australia.

The Savage Cub went into production in Italy between 1997 and 1998. The idea, was to create an aircraft with good STOL performance, classic design and good handling that would be economic and easy to both build and repair.

A weakness for one of the legends of 20th century aviation - the Piper Cub - drove the designer of the Savage and his team, aeronautical engineers Bonaldo, Franchini and Vizzini (the latter had worked at Aeritalia, and spent a long period at Boeing in Seattle before moving on to AERMACCHI) to build several prototypes that would become the basis for the Savage Cub we know today.

Calculations with the most sophisticated aeronautical programmes, static and in-flight tests were to confirm the excellent validity of the design to the extent that it went on to win, during its first official showing (at the CAP meet at Carpi, Italy in 1999), first prize as best microlight to be built from blueprints only.

Since1999 the construction (which utilises the best aeronautical materials from the USA, Italy and France) moved in the Czech Republic and it is carried by the aeronautical company ZLIN AVIATION, specialist in 1st, 2nd & 3rd level civil aviation maintenance and restoration of vintage aircraft.

The workers at Zlin Aviation are fully qualified and have gained extensive experience in the country´s most important aeronautical companies (Moravan, Let, etc.).

The production line features a whole series of product quality controls and construction checks. These are carried out by technicians whose signature confirms that each aircraft has been fully tested and certified. The aircraft has several type approvals in different countries.

Savage Classic, awarded best Factory Built Aircraft at Australian International Airshow !

Arriving into Australia only days before the Australian International Airshow at Victoria's Avalon airport. Everything was rush, rush, rush to get our latest aircraft delivery completed, registered and flown to Avalon for display.

Bruce and Helen Vickers, the Savage Aircraft dealers for the southern regions of Australia were our representatives at the Avalon International Airshow. From all reports the crowd was non-stop throughout the entire event. A fantastic surprise came on the last day when the Savage Aircraft was awarded the "Best Factory Built Recreational Aircraft !  A superb effort when you consider the number of aircraft in attendance at the show which is considered the Australian equivalent of Oshkosh.

This award only reinforces the build quality of Savage Aircraft and the presentation and effort put into the display by Bruce and his team of helpers.
