Oshkosh Update - Where to find us

The greatest show on Earth.... Or so they call EAA's Oshkosh Airventure is on again starting July 27th through to August 2nd. Pipistrel-USA will be in attendance with both a Sinus and Virus Aircraft on display in the Northern Aircraft area. Site 423 is where you will find us, ideally located on the prime corner position between the warbird walkway and the main taxiway... great spot. We would love for you to drop by and say hello to the Pipistrel USA team and I even heard a rumor that Ivo might be joining us this year for the show.....

Latest deliveries

The last weeks have been busy with two more owners taking delivery of new planes.

John Whitman from Esperance in Western Australia has taken delivery of the first 503 powered Sinus in Australia. The plane is very different from the usual 912 powered aircraft, it makes more noise in the cockpit when compared to the 912 because the engine is a 2 stroke, surprisingly though, its quiet from the ground and overhead the field it doesn't really sound much like a 2 stroke. The glide performance of the lighter engined plane seemed a little better and of course they are cheaper, so if you live near some hills or big thermals run in your area the 503 may well be the perfect choice. John had a 4000 km trip back home from the Gold Coast to Esperance.

Lars and Heinz Zender the dynamic father and son team from Coffs Harbour took delivery of the first Sinus registered by the GFA (Gliding Federation of Australia) a few weeks ago. Both are very experienced glider pilots and I am looking forward to some feedback on their adventures when the gliding season starts in Australia next spring. Lars reported some very good distances in our weak winter conditions and I think this summer he will put the plane through it's paces on Australia's east coast gliding sites.

Aircraft for Sale

We still have a few planes for sale... Our two Oshkosh demonstrators have created a lot of interest but no-one has stepped forward just yet. The aircraft are a Sinus tailwheel and a Virus nosewheel, fitted out with many features and they even have a few freebies thrown in to sweeten the deal. Including a free XCOM VHF radio and harness worth over $1500 AU$.

The planes will be delivered after Oshkosh and will only be used for static display at Airventure, e.g. they wont be flown... so you know the plane will be brand new. Please email me for more details and information on how you could own either of these fine aircraft.

We have two planes available in Australia for immediate delivery, firstly my demonstrator is available with 125 hours on the clock, fitted with heaps of extras it is just over 12 months old and represents a saving of more than 15% of the new price - please email me for details.

The other aircraft is brand new... ordered as a Sinus the customer has changed his mind for the Virus model. Still wrapped in plastic and unflown this Sinus is packed with more gear than the space shuttle, some of the equipment follows...

The XCOM VHF transceiver is our first electronics project we have commissioned, delayed for many months by certification and design hurdles and now manufacturing teething problems I am happy to report we should be packing boxes in the next weeks satisfying backorders. Flight for Sight

Remember Flight for Sight last year ?

Well after raising almost $60,000 for the Royal Blind Foundation of Queensland the team are at it again..... Our principal sponsors, the AMP foundation have already kicked in $60,000 based on our success and media exposure last time so our goals have been set higher with dreams to reach $100,000 !!!

Hopefully with the assistance of some of our readers we can again help those with blindness and vision problems as we tour around Queensland raising much needed funds... The dates for this year are the 7th to the 18th of October and if you would like to join all or some of the trip please drop me a line for details.
